Our second-ever print edition accompanies our ongoing coverage of surveillance and transparency.

Tone Madison has been an all-online publication since we launched in 2014. We are now making the leap into print.
Well, mostly we want more ways to connect with our community of readers, to have more in-person conversations, to escape the relentless digital fatigue. Our first edition will be available on Friday December 6, 2024 at Gamma Ray Bar, during our 10th anniversary party. That one will be more of a keepsake for readers who’ve been with us all along, and an introduction to welcome new readers.
That’s a bit of an experiment.
We’d like to aim to get a print thing out there every quarter, possibly with print-exclusive or print-first stories, illustrations, and comics, possibly with print-friendly recaps of our recently published highlights. We don’t have the resources to create a fully-fledged print newspaper, but we do want to explore the possibilities the medium still offers for journalists and readers. For updates on this experiment, make sure you subscribe to our email list!
