We made an Alejandro Escovedo playlist for Tone Madison Sustainers

If you’re a Sustainer, you can enjoy it ahead of Escovedo’s July 5 show at the High Noon Saloon.

Alejandro Escovedo, who plays the High Noon Saloon on July 5, is one of my favorite songwriters, and one of those artists I don’t think I’ll ever be done exploring. I was having trouble summing up exactly why that is, so I decided to make a Spotify playlist that offers a few different entry points in his career. It’s bookended with two different versions of the same song. Along the way, there are selections from across his discography, including the theater piece By The Hand Of The Father and some live recordings, plus a couple of covers, and one cover of Escovedo by John Cale, who also produced Escovedo’s 2006 album The Boxing Mirror.

The playlist is available to Tone Madison Sustainers—folks who support our work with their recurring monthly donations. If you’re already a Sustainer, you can find a private link to it in your inbox now, along with an ambient DJ mix from Chants. if you’re not a Sustainer yet, become one this week and we’ll send it along to you.
