Creatures and characters adorn our favorite promotional art from this year’s documentary and narrative features.

Whether online or in print, the Wisconsin Film Festival guide has always been a fun thing to devour, partly due to the mostly minimal application of visual elements. You get a screen grab for most movies, sure, but it’s understandably hard for a single image to sell a whole film.

For those of you who are all in on taking chances and allowing for surprises when buying tickets on the basis of the capsule write-ups, by all means go with g/God(s)! If you’re desiring another data point in your quest to chart a course through your festival experience, we’ve brought back a Tone Madison tradition in our annual Wisconsin Film Festival poster gallery, corralling no less than two dozen of what we determined to be the most striking official posters from the documentary and narrative features screening in this year’s festival, running April 13 through 20.

Click on the poster art and you’ll be whisked off to the WFF site, where you can learn more about each title or buy tickets, so long as they’re not “rush only,” naturally.
