Summer is almost here, and that means there’s going to be a bonkers amount of live music emanating from fields, slapping into the state office buildings downtown, and dissippating over the lakes. On this week’s podcast we cut through the noise and look at a few of the standout shows, with a balance of the indoor, the outdoor, and the indoor-outdoor (i.e. the Shitty Barn). Of course, these are hardly the only shows worth seeing in Madison this summer, and we’ll be previewing much more stuff in our weekly calendar and other features. Here’s a cheat sheet of the shows discussed in this episode:

June 3: Me eN You at the Terrace

June 23: Screaming Females at The Frequency

June 23: Paul de Jong at Crescendo

July 3: Samantha Glass at Arts + Literature Laboratory

July 15 & 16: Kid Koala and Stacey Pullen at La Fete De Marquette’s electronic tent

July 27: Me eN You at the Shitty Barn

August 5: Tatsuya Nakatani and Tar Pet at Arts + Literature Laboratory

August 10: Sarah Neufeld, Colin Stetson, and Chants at the Shitty Barn

TBD: Foshizzle Family DJ events at James Madison Park
