New shows: Savages, Ryley Walker, and more

The week’s best Madison show announcements.

Savages will play a May 20 show at the High Noon Saloon.

Savages will play a May 20 show at the High Noon Saloon.

At once fierce and tender, Savages played an excellent show at the High Noon in 2013 behind their debut album, Silence Yourself. The British post-punk outfit just followed that up with the new release Adore Life, and will return on May 20, also at the High Noon. Info/tickets

I’ve been itching for another chance to see Chicago guitarist/singer Ryley Walker‘s intoxicating weave of folk and jazz since his 2015 release Primrose Green, and his last scheduled show in town was canceled. So even though he’s the opener, I’m particularly excited that he’ll be sharing a bill with Deer Tick, on April 8 at the Majestic. Info/tickets

NYC rapper Le1f, whose 2015 album Riot Boi showcased his subgenre-smashing versatility and slyly twisting flow, will play March 30 at The Frequency. Info/tickets

The charismatic and lovably raspy R&B singer Charles Bradley will play April 30 at the Majestic. Info/tickets
