Tone Madison’s “The Apocalypse Team” included in the 2021 Wisconsin Film Festival

Our short documentary about two Madisonians who make and fix instruments will screen alongside “Becoming Geppetto.”

The Wisconsin Film Festival surprised us today with the early rollout of its 2021 lineup, happening online from May 13 to 20. We’re scrambling to speed up some proper coverage our wonderful film team has in the works—look for that on Friday. But we also wanted to let you know that Tone Madison has something of its own in the festival: The Apocalypse Team, a short documentary about Madison’s own Ellie Erickson and Koriana Kent. Videographer/editor Paddy Cassidy worked with us to offer a look into the pair’s East Side home and workshop, where they repair instruments, create art, make music, and charm visitors with a seemingly endless stream of warped banter.

The Apocalypse Team will screen as an opener to Becoming Geppetto, Dale Lindquist’s feature-length documentary about the father-and-son luthiers of Petros Guitars in Kaukauna. We submitted our short to the festival on something of a whim, so it’s an honor to be included and exciting to be paired up so nicely with another film about Wisconsin instrument-makers.
