Podcast: Zebras’ Lacey Smith and Vincent Presley

The Madison metal band discuss their recent sonic evolution and interest in bizarre conspiracy theories.

This week we shared a new track from and some thoughts on Madison metal band Zebras’ forthcoming album, The City Of Sun, but I also had a chance to sit down with founding members Lacey Smith (synth) and Vincent Presley (guitar, vocals) at WORT-FM studios. Give the segment a listen to hear excerpts from more of the new songs and a discussion of the band’s fascination with conspiracy theories, their evolving relationship with drummer Shane Hochstetler, and Presley’s recent work reissuing a live album from post-punk artist Snakefinger. Zebras’ next Madison shows are July 15 at the High Noon Saloon opening for Melt-Banana and September 23 at The Frequency opening for DRI. Segment produced by Dylan Brogan for WORT. A shorter version aired earlier this week on WORT’s In Our Backyard news show.
