Exploring a time capsule of Madison music from the mid-aughts.

On this week’s podcast, Ben Munson and Scott Gordon crack open a CD book they amassed between 2006 and 2012-ish while working at the local edition of The A.V. Club (RIP).

It contains mostly local music released during that period. It’s an obviously incomplete but still very fun cross-section, spanning releases from Madison bands past, and some that are still going. Ben and Scott revisit music from artists including The Bracelets, Dumate, The Arge, Wilhelmina Baker, and Voltress, and reflect on the unpredictable and rewarding ways in which the local music community shifts over time.
