Bob Mould and band (Jason Narducy, left, and Jon Wurster) will play April 20 at the Majestic.

Bob Mould has been on a beautifully scathing streak recently with 2012’s album Silver Age and 2014’s Beauty And Ruin, both featuring him in an impeccable trio format with drummer Jon Wurster and bassist Jason Narducy. They’ll be back for an April 20 show at the Majestic behind the March 25 release of their latest album together, Patch The Sky. Info/tickets

Japanese psych destroyers Acid Mothers Temple will bring their overpowering live set back to Madison on March 28 at The Frequency. Info/tickets

Offering a more stately take on heavy, trippy music, Black Mountain will play May 11 at the High Noon Saloon. Boasting the fierce, shuddering vocals of Amber Webber, they’ll be playing behind their first release since 2012, IV. Info/tickets
