The student film programmers at WUD Film have announced a new the free, weekend-long, Marquee Film Festival, taking place November 12 through 15 at the Marquee in Union South. The 14-film lineup will consist almost entirely of new features, including the new documentary Black Panthers: Vanguard Of The Revolution and Austrian dark comedy Amour Fou, but things will kick off with Killer Of Sheep, Charles Burnett’s 1978 drama Killer Of Sheep. Madison electronic producer and drummer Jordan Cohen, aka Chants, will celebrate the release of his third full-length album, We Are All Underwater, on November 4 as part of the Cardinal Bar’s Proper Method series. Info
Madison-based saxophone and flute improviser Hanah Jon Taylor is performing a series of three solo shows in the area. It kicks off this Saturday, October 24 at Mother Fool’s and continues with solo performances at Lakeside Street Coffee House on November 14 and at the Madison Central Library on November 21. Info
