The mighty Duluth trio is set to play Madison a week after releasing a new album, “Ones And Sixes.”
Madison has been getting a lot of Low lately. Just last year, the eminently reliable, tender-yet-cathartic Duluth outfit played a two-set, no-openers show at the Majestic and another at the Shitty Barn in Spring Green. And they’ll be returning for the irrational pile-up that is Madison’s fall concert season, with a September 18 show at the High Noon Saloon (where they last played a great set for the 2009 Forward Music Fest). A week before that, they’ll have a new album, Ones And Sixes, out on Sub Pop. The first single from the album, “No Comprende,” is up for streaming today. Mimi Parker and Alan Sparhawk have been at it for more than 20 years now (and current bassist Steve Garrington is real good too) and they’re still surprising us and pulling off delicately wrenching live shows, so we recommend this one. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
