John Wiese, one of the most important artists working in experimental music and sound art today, most recently visited Madison to play with his grindcore band Sissy Spacek last fall, and to play a solo set opening for Zola Jesus in 2017 at the Majestic. Before we get into a very busy fall, we’re partnering up with the folks at Arts + Literature Laboratory to welcome Wiese back for a solo set on Saturday, August 10. It’s an early show, starting at 7 p.m. Opening up will be two Madison artists, Erik Kramer and Jeremy Van Mill. It’s hard to predict how a given John Wiese live set will play out, but one can generally count on a masterful mix of lush harmonic structures and tactile, jarring, atonal sounds.
