COVID measures at Madison-area venues, post-mask mandate

A guide to a shifting landscape of precautions.

Photo: Bassist Barry Paul Clark, left, and drummer Jon Mueller perform at Arts + Literature Laboratory in October 2021. as part of Mueller’s “Afterlife Cartoons” tour. Both musicians are wearing face masks. To their right is a large painting by artist Jason S. Yi showing dark, mountain-like forms.

Dane County’s indoor mask mandate has expired as of Tuesday, March 1, and UW-Madison’s mask mandate will lift on March 12. Performance venues around the Madison area are adjusting their COVID-19 precautions. Individual businesses still have the ability to enact mask or vaccination mandates, or other measures. We’ve partnered up with our friends at Madison Minutes to compile this guide to help you navigate this changing landscape.
