On this week’s Tone Madison/WORT-FM podcast, I wanted to talk about a few Wisconsin artists I’ve been excited about lately: Madison’s Paint and Wood Chickens, who play tonight at Mickey’s Tavern and recently released a split cassette; the mighty Appleton-formed punk outfit Tenement, who just released a new double album, Predatory Headlights, this week, and play July 9 at the Frequency with Ceremony; Madison techno producer Kiazma, who plays July 10 at the Fete De Marquette’s electronic stage; Death Blues, an epic Milwaukee project that wraps up with a June 10 show at the Shitty Barn in Spring Green. Thanks to WORT-FM’s Dylan Brogan for producing the segment, which also aired this week on WORT’s In Our Backyard news show.

Oh hey, also: WORT is in the middle of a pledge drive, and they’re a great resource for the community and a great partner to us in producing this segment every week. Consider giving them some support this week.

An ode to the best and worst of Madison summers.
